Himachal ki kali

It was a pleasant and warm afternoon at a height of around 6500 ft at Himachalpradesh.A group of 50 people were waiting outside a shop cum house - their lunch point after their morning trek.If you though they were tired and sleeping, no you are wrong. Almost everybody in the group were busy - either looking at the first girl in the ground floor of the shop or the second girl standing on the stairs of the house.

The first girl looked to be a perfect beauty. They searched for words to appreciate her beauty, standing in front of them. But words failed to come out. Someone tried in their mother tongues English, Hindi, marathi, gujarathi, Tulu, Tamil etc., but wasn't successful. The group tried hard for just one word, but nothing perfectly could describe what they were looking at.Only big sighs came out instead of words. Next thing, they ran out with their cameras, their digitals, analogs, SLRs and clicked pictures. The guys who reviewed the picture taken nodded their heads in dissatisfaction. The cameras couldn't capture the beauty their eyes could capture. They failed miserably. There were surprised, for they have flaterred the girls in their metros with there verses, whereas nothing came out of their mouth here.

They never realised that she is an unadulterated beauty - epitome of a beautiful mind not contaminated by artificial pigments/paints.

The second girl at the stairs looked pretty timid and diffident. She was hesitant to walk down the stairs and face the crowd of men and boys standing below. She slowly walked down and talked to the only girl in the group of trekkers. By then part of the guys from the group were already drooling at her. Something irked her, she felt troubled, just looked around and found that everybody has been looking at her.Suddenly her face turned red.The guys looking at her were surprised, but they still kept gazing at her.Every other moment something irked her and she turned around to find out that she is being ogled at.Once again her face turned red, more red now. Nobody staring at her knew what was happening and why was it happening. Is she blushing - If so why - out of modesty, joy, embarassment. They do not know, but continued gazing. Meanwhile something kept irking her and she turned back every now and then and she was turning more and more red.The next time the group saw her, her eyes were full of water, which is ready to overflow and roll down as tears. She was too timid to even use her hand to control or wipe the stagnant water off her eyes. The group was still wondering - is it tears of joy, grief or embarassment. They dont know. They haven't even seen a single girl in their metro, blushing just because some guy is looking at her.

They never realised that she is an unadulterated beauty - epitome of innocent beauty not contaminated by the wits and tricks of the society.

With all these questions the group looked at the beautiful himalayan ranges in front of them. They wondered why the architect worked so hard to erect these mighty himalayas, clothed their peaks with white snow, planted some thick and tall green pines and melted the glaciers to form the streams. They were curious why should he create such a beautiful place synonymous to heaven.

Was he jealous of the beauties residing there that he made their habitat as beautiful as he can.

Unadulterated they stand now, both the habitat and its dwellers, which makes the onlookers ecstatic.Hopefully they be like that for years or centuries to come.

Yeh chand sa roshan chehara, zulfon ka rang sunahara
Yeh zeel se neele aankhen, koi raaz hain in mein gahara
Taareef karu kya us ki, jis ne tumhe banayaa.
